THE GREAT SELBY BIKE RIDE 2026

Elmet Lions are making a change to this year’s Great Selby Bike Ride.
In previous years Elmet Lions have raised funds for 4 major charities: Martin House, St. Leonard’s Hospice, British Heart Foundation and PSA Testing from Elmet Lions.
2026 will see a new approach.
This year there will be cyclists cycling for their own chosen charities (rather like the London Marathon) and completing the course with a Justgiving or a sponsor form filled ready to donate to their charity of choice.
However, people who want to ride for the sheer fun of riding will be very welcome to take part on the day.
Our aim is to encourage and help more, smaller charities to raises funds by recruiting riders to cycle either the 25 mile or the 45 mile routes and collecting money to boost funds.
We will be reaching out to charities over the next few months and hoping to get them signed up which will hopefully encourage more riders to participate.
Elmet Lions will still organise the route, the marshalls, the refreshments, First Aid – and collect the money from the entry fees to give back to the community, however we will
encourage others to cycle for their own cause.
